WOS 2018 Review

Worcestershire Open Studios 2018 for Jilly @ Archiimp

Due to the weather visitor numbers were down on last year but those who came dug deeper than before and purchased more than ever.

A very special thank you to those who took time out of their August Bank Holiday to visit us and to our location partners, Keith and Zoe of Henley McKay Kitchens for giving us such a lovely space and making the event possible.

Our Pop Up Gallery and Events Dates section was a huge talking point with many people signing up to receive future event dates and Blog notices. We had plenty of discussions on how to get greater awareness and reach a wider audience and the initiatives were very strongly supported and welcomed by all – Thank you.

This year we had a mini display from a guest artist – Chris Greening (pottery) which added synergy to the WOS as a whole, showed linkage with other local artists and provided a great complimentary visitor experience. Something we will employ again next year.

Our Worcester Stands Tall display also generated great interest and wonderful talking point with giraffe lovers.

Unfortunately we were unable to take photographs during the busy visitor periods (by its very nature) but despite the spacious location it was surprising how quickly it filled up – maybe helped by the Kir Royals!

  1. I was very pleased to be invited by Jilly to bring some of my pottery along to her exhibition, which of course gave me the treat of seeing her work as it was being (expertly) installed by Chris.
As my work is functional ware it was a particularly relevant setting but to have it surrounded by Jilly’s range of work made it extra special.
Looking forward to future events together.
