The Birmingham Bullring  The Guardian (more commonly known as The Bull) was created by Laurence Broderick. Erected in 2003, the six-tonne structure was recently named as one of the world’s best examples of public art. It is thought that The Guardian symbolises the power and strength of the city, as well as functioning as a reflection of the determination, movement and pride that the UK’s second city is known for. The Bull was named one of the world’s ten top public works of art earning its place alongside New York’s Statue of Liberty & Michelangelo’s David. The Bullring shopping centre location has a long history as a marketplace, with bulls being a commonly traded animal in this area many years ago.

The original artwork is painted on A3 size art paper (roughly 16.5in x 11.7in / 420mm x 297mm)

Architecture and its’ appreciation is of importance to Artist Oxlade-Arnott, who comments, “Buildings are the foundation of our lives, the interaction we all have with them may be inconsequential but if, once in a while you stop, look up, you’ll be surprised by what you’ve missed and how varied and intricate the urban landscape can really be”.

Options Descriptions are as follows: 

Original Artwork (unless ‘sold’ – and so will not come up on product selection drop down)

Presented backed mounted on its original A3 size art paper (roughly 16.5in x 11.7in / 420mm x 297mm), are hand signed by the artist and provided with a Certificate of Authenticity. Every original will fit a standard 20″ by 16″ frame. Mounting colour is selected by the artist to suit the artwork

As this is an original,  the Artist will contact you directly to discuss the artwork presentation and delivery personally

 

Fine Art Canvasses (A0, A1, A2)

These canvasses are individually signed by the artist and are provided with a Certificate of Authenticity. They are limited edition to a global run of 125 productions only. Numbers selected by the artist

They are fine art/giclee canvasses have a double coat of Gicleé vanish, are 100% cotton and of archival quality using archival inks on acid free matte canvas of 360gsm. Canvasses 40mm in depth (not the thinner 25mm) and are all finished with tape and hanging cords attached

They are guaranteed not to fade for 100 years, so can be hung in a sunny position

• Canvas of A0 size is 46.8in x 33.1in / 1189mm x 841mm
• Canvas of A1 size is 33.1in x 23.4in / 841mm x 594mm
• Canvas of A2 size is 23.4in x 16.5in / 594mm x 420mm

Each A5 card is printed on 350gsm silk paper stock FSC certified and presented with a plain white envelope and individually wrapped in a cello sleeve. Each card in intentionally left blank for you to add your own message. Cards of both landscape and portrait hinge to the left edge
