Paper, Ink and Watercolour Paint
There is a wide variety of watercolour paper available. We usually use a 300gsm acid free hot pressed stock. On occasion we have used a heavier weight but this can restrict the movement of the fluid and will produce a different end result.
We predominantly use Faber Castell pencils and ink pens as they produce high quality results. We use Windsor & Newton Cotman tubes and half pans of watercolour paint.

Fine Art (Gicleé) Prints
When we say Fine Art & Fine Art Prints we actually mean Gicleé.
Note: Gicleé is a French word meaning spray or spurt of liquid. Gicleé print images are produced from high resolution scans using archival ink and acid free paper. Prints generated using this method are of the highest possible quality and conform to The Fine Art Trade Guilds standards and are issued with a certificate of authentication.
Our fine art prints are produced on a 280gsm high quality fine art paper which has 25% cotton content. It is made of 25% cotton linters and 75% alpha cellulose and is slightly textured. We use fine art paper that is acid free and of archival quality. All our Fine Art prints and canvases are presented this way.
Our fine art prints will not fade in sunlight and will last 75-100 years.

It is better value than fine art printing but doesn’t give you the longevity or durability. However it is more suitable to occasional art such as greetings cards and posters. We digitally print our vivid range prints as this art demands bold consistent colour and pure brilliant whites.
We use digital printing for our business and greeting card, posters and some larger format prints.
All our greeting cards are produced to A5 size (A4 folded) and are printed on high quality 350gsm paper, providing a more superior product than is standard in the card market.

High Resolution Scanning
Our original artwork is scanned at very high resolution. It is essential as, trust us we have tried lower resolution files, and the quality is just not good enough. The subtle tones of the watercolour and paper stock are lost. Lower resolution files are fine for websites, as we have used several on this site, but not when you want perfect reproduction, especially to A0 size. Once scanned, a proof is produced to colour match, to ensure the closest reproduction.
Architectural Impression scan all their own artwork using Epson products.
Fine Art (Gicleé) Canvas
We use a fine art matte canvas of 360gsm, it is a natural white material with a textured traditional woven surface which makes it ideal for reproductions of watercolour. They are 100% cotton and of archival quality. After printing, the canvas is protected by two coats of a ph neutral gicleé varnish to seal the surface and extend UV resistance. The canvas is hand stretched onto a wooden stretcher, stapled to hold it secure and wooden wedges are fixed to hold the canvas taught on the 4-5cm thickness frame. Our Canvases are finished with tape and hanging cords attached.
Our printed canvases will not fade in sunlight and is guaranteed to last 75-100 years.

Mounts and Frames
The right mount and frame is just as important as the artwork itself. We select our mount colours to present the artwork at it very best. Our mounted prints are provided with a hinged back panel to provide additional support and protection of the piece in transportation and for showing. Each Limited Edition print is provided with a Certificate of Authenticity, detailing its creation date, unique number and details of the artist. The certificate is provided loose so that it can be attached to the rear of the frame once framed and sealed.
Each print itself is signed and numbered by the artist on the front of the piece.
Framing is a very personal choice. We are happy to assist you in your selection and can provide artwork framed and ready to hang.
